Basically, it's still based on ancient medicine. The difference is that when treating at the point of the body, people add the impact of electricity.

The impact of electricity can be in the needle, under the skin, at the correct position on the meridian system. Or maybe electrical stimulation in the skin, and the right acupuncture point.

Acupuncture with Electrical Stimulation

In terms of electricity, there are different types of electricity, the differences in the quantity and quality of electricity: voltage, frequency, current, shape of electrical pulses, etc.

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical Stimulation, it can be "Cranial electrotherapy stimulation" (CES), or TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), or EMS (Electro-mechanical stimulation), etc.

However, only TENS focuses on the position of the body's acupuncture point for treatment. There are also other therapies that are similar to TENS, such as ACU-TENS.

Therefore, Electric acupuncture is Electrical Stimulation therapy. But Electrical Stimulation is not necessarily the treatment of Electric acupuncture.
