Sound therapy for Body and Mind - Physical and Spiritual

1. Physical: Sound therapy for body

Introductions: The whole of the Universe is energy and each basic element of the known atomic chart consists of energy at different rates of vibration. The difference between any two elements is the difference in both atomic structure and vibration rates.

Everything in this world we live in is vibrating, and if look deeper, everything is a vibration. Concepts such as the Big Bang, the butterfly effect, and even meditation are based on the properties of energy and vibrations. By observing these properties, we also come to the principles of using sound and vibrations in therapeutic ways.

1.1. Sound Therapy and Vibrational Healing

These are not new principles. It is theorized that the didgeridoo, used by Australian aboriginal people, has been used for sound healing for over 40,000 years. This roughly coincides with the emergence of modern humans – one of the most notable features being spoken language. Ancient Egyptians recognized the power of sound and built pyramids to generate specific frequencies. Ancient Chinese and Indian cultures recognized the power of the sound. The Chinese symbol for medicine is identical to the symbol for music, but with two flags above it – possibly a depiction of tuning forks. Knowledge of Ayurveda is often found in the form of hymns in the Vedas. Both of these cultures use bronze bells in temples and sacred spaces to help cleanse the air. In fact, most religions and cultures utilize bells. Songs of praise, prayers, chants, and mantras are all practiced for their vibrational effects. Ancient Greeks used the power of sound. Pythagoras and his followers calculated harmonics of strings and other mathematical components of music. Hippocrates is even quoted to say “Music is medicine.”

Surely we can see that this is not a new concept, but only in the last two centuries have we begun to rediscover how to harness the power of vibrations, frequencies, and energy for health and lifestyle benefits.

So what is the power of sound? The easiest way to picture it is by creating ripples. Drop a stone in a pond of water. Poke the surface of a water-filled dished. Put a glass of water in front of a speaker playing music. You might notice how the waves ripple out until they get smaller. Some waves bounce and push back against the other waves. This will continue until there is equilibrium – balance.

Sound moves all things. Sound travels as a mechanical pressure wave. This means that sound is raw energy of movement that pushes and pulls everything it travels through – on a molecular level. When sound travels, it causes particles to expand and contract along the way. Multiple waves will eventually merge into an average of the frequencies. This is an important function of sound and entrainment. Multiple rhythms will strive to match. The classic example of this is put two pendulums side by side and start them in different times. Eventually both pendulums will be synchronized. In regards to the body, sound can stimulate any cell and affect any of the body’s rhythms – returning them to harmony. There is a seemingly limitless potential for the applications of sound energy in health & wellness. In the medical field, it is known that high frequency ultrasounds and low frequency infrasounds can be used to break up particles and tissues. These are inaudible sounds that are too low(below 20 hertz) or too high(above 20,000 hz) for us to hear with our ears. These frequencies are used to destroy internal stones, cancer cells, blood clots, and more.

On the other hand, audible frequencies have healing, synthesizing, and balancing effects. These are what we use to holistically restore the body’s health. There are innumerable effects on our physiology. We are constantly discovering new interactions with the body. A few known effects are: increased blood flow, accelerated healing, reduces inflammation, brainwave entrainment, relaxation, surgery preparation, auricular equilibrium, and various symptomatic releases of specific ailments(e.g. cancer).

Each and every particle is vibrating. That means everything has its own natural rhythm. Each cell needs to maintain its natural vibratory pattern. If it deviates too much from its natural frequency, then its health deteriorates until it can no longer sustain itself. But that is just one cell. Different types of cells have different frequency ranges. For us to be alive and healthy, we need trillions of cells working together to support a number of different functions. They form our body’s rhythms and cycles as a whole: respiratory, digestive, sleep, etc. Like individual musicians in an orchestra, cells must play their part in proper timing with trillions of other cells to maintain health. When functions of the body get out of synch with each other, disease occurs and there will be increased susceptibility to sickness. Communication is significant to the health of all things. Communication is paramount to life. This can be in the form of an electromagnetic or chemical signal in plants or speech between humans. Just as proper communication between people is necessary for healthy societal relationships, intercellular communication is needed for a healthy body.

The effects of sound therapy can be felt immediately, but for optimal results, we recommend a minimum of 7 or 12 minutes. Seven minutes for relaxation and mental balances; Twelve minutes for vibrational massage as a localized treatment.

To simplify the practice and introduce new practitioners to the modality, we begin with two aspects that are easy to grasp: psychological, and physical. This corresponds to the two simplest features of an audible sound wave; a sound wave is moving pressure that can move molecules and we can hear it. Certain tones can be used to slow down brainwave patterns, thereby inducing relaxation, sleep, traumatic release, and a general feeling of wellbeing. Physically, vibrations travel through matter. In a typical massage, the therapist is limited to manipulating tissues where the hands can go. Vibrations can permeate all cells – providing a massage to each cell individually.

Sound Therapy and Vibrational Healing

Vibrations have the power to work synergistically in creating harmony. This is why we prefer acoustic instruments such as the voice, gongs, or singing bowls. A vibrating chair might be able to release physical tensions and we can use perfectly calculated frequencies for brainwave entrainment but they can’t recreate the harmonizing effects of natural vibrations.

Many instruments can be used for sound therapy. The most accessible instruments are our own heart & voice! They are always with us and the voice is capable of creating a wide range of vibrations. Other instruments used are tuning forks, gongs, bells, drums, and didgeridoos. Our instruments of choice are Himalayan singing bowls, also referred to as Tibetan singing bowls. Singing bowls are one of the easiest instruments to pick up and one the most effective to use. They produce harmonious tones that balance the mind and healing vibrations that provide a massage to each of our trillions of cells. We prefer the celestial harmonies created by metal Himalayan singing bowls and gongs because of their shifting frequencies. Rather than creating pure tones, we use oscillating tones to create space and balance – allowing the body to harmonize with the bowl and then return to its natural rhythms.

Singing bowls are great for practitioners who are not able to invest large amounts of time in learning an instrument but still want still want to implement sound therapy in their practice. This accessibility also makes them accommodating to spas. As previously mentioned, vibrations cause changes at microscopic levels. In the spa setting, sound becomes another tool that can be used as needed, or it can be used exclusively in standalone treatments (i.e. Singing bowl massage). It depends on the tools available and the therapist’s skill. If one is comfortable, they can use a singing bowl to release tension or remove blockages during any treatment. Take a moment to consider heat (another form of vibrations) and cryotherapies. For example, a therapist can use a hot pack during a sports massage or they can perform a full hot stone massage in which heat is the primary mode of action for the duration of the treatment.

Healing with vibrations is something that comes naturally to us. We are inclined to create and receive vibrations through music, humming, or other forms of expression. However, formal training can help us to harness the power of sound for significant benefits and therapeutic use. Courses on sound therapy can be found all around the world. Anyone can use sound therapy, but some courses are targeted towards specific practitioners. The length of training is anywhere between 2-7 days. It depends on what instrument(s) and practitioner (if any) the course is focused on. We offer a 2 day CEU course for massage therapists that focuses on the basics of sound therapy and singing bowl massage. While most classes are open to for anyone to join, it is important to stay within the scope of one’s practice as per local laws. The beauty of sound and vibrational therapy is that it does not require hands-on – opening up the practice to those who are not licensed body workers or healthcare practitioners.

1.2.  Sound therapy in conjunction with the release of endorphins, noradrenalin and enkephalin (naturally produced pain killers) which help to block the message of pain being delivered to the brain.

This ancient healing practice is based on the same principles as Acupuncture
But it’s far more effective
And much less invasive - requiring no needles whatsoever

2. Spiritual: Sound therapy for Mind - Subconscious

2.1. The Law of Vibration

This law of nature states that everything moves, everything vibrates, and nothing rests. These vibrations may be lower (slower vibration) or higher (faster vibrations). These vibrational energy levels are known as “frequencies” and are measured in Hertz (Hz). A Hertz is equal to ONE vibrational cycle per second.

I won’t go too deep into a physics lessons here, but it’s interesting to note that Dr. Colin W.F. McClare (Bio-Physicist), discovered that frequencies of vibrating energy are roughly 100 times more efficient in relaying information within a biological system than physical signals, such as hormones, neurotransmitters and other growth factors (Lipton 2008).

That would explain how different frequencies can impact our moods and emotions and the moods and emotions of those around us. It is believed that feeling of sadness, anger, fear, and dread, for example, have a low frequency while feelings, of love, happiness, gratitude, etc. have a high frequency.

2.2. Solfeggio Frequencies

Everyone today can easily recognize the 7 note scale assigned to the syllables Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti, but the ancient version was a 6 note scale assigned to the ascending syllables Ut-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La.
This is the ancient Solfeggio Scale. This ancient 6 note scale was created by Benedictine monk, Guido d’Arezzo (991 AD – 1050 AD).
The scale was used as a teaching tool to help others learn chants and songs easier. Each tone in the scale produces a specific frequency. These frequencies have been discovered to have very specific impacts on the body.
  • UT- 396 Hz = turning grief into joy, liberating guilt & fear: searches out hidden blockages, subconscious negative beliefs, and ideas that have led to your present situations.
  • RE- 417 Hz = undoing situations and facilitating change: puts you in touch with an inexhaustible source of energy that allows you to change your life.
  • MI- 528 Hz = transformation and miracles (DNA repair): increased amount of life energy, clarity of mind, awareness, awakened or activated creativity, ecstatic states like deep inner peace, dance and celebration. Also, activates your imagination, intention and intuition to operate for your highest and best purpose.
  • FA- 639 Hz = re-connecting and balancing, relationships: enhances communication, understanding, tolerance and love.
  • Sol- 741 Hz = solving problems, expressions/solutions: leads to a healthier, simpler life, and also to changes in diet. Also, leads you into the power of self-expression, which results in a pure and stable life.
  • LA- 852 Hz = awakening intuition, returning to spiritual order: the ability to see through the illusions of your life, such as hidden agendas of people, places and things. Opens a person up for communication with the all-embracing Spirit and raises awareness and lets you return to spiritual order.
In addition to the original 6 above, 3 other tones have been shown to have healing properties. Together the 9 make up the Solfeggio frequencies.
  • SI- 963 Hz = awakens any system to its original, perfect state: enables direct experience, the return to Oneness.
  • 174 Hz = natural anesthetic: reduce pain physically and energetically.
  • 285 Hz = helps return tissue into its original form: influences energy fields, sending them a message to restructure damaged organs. It also leaves your body rejuvenated and energized.

2.3. Isochronic & Binaural Tones

Referred to as “brainwave entrainment,” these tones and beats are distinctive sound pulses that are often combined with soothing sounds or music.
They have a direct impact on your brain activity changing the frequency of your brainwaves, so you can train your brain to enter various mental states and levels of consciousness.
These states are similar to what the brain experiences during meditation and can have similar benefits on the body. The magic of isochronic and binaural beats/tones is that they target and work on various brainwave frequencies to achieve various impacts on the body.
  • Beta brain waves – 12 Hz to 30 Hz = help regulate and stabilize your normal waking awareness. Entrainment of your beta waves may also be used to increase your ability to concentrate and may even improve your IQ.
  • Alpha brain waves – 8 Hz to 12 Hz = states of relaxation, enhances creativity, mental clarity, and the brain is more receptive to information. Alpha is great for stress relief and relaxation.
  • Theta brain waves – 4 Hz to 7 Hz = state of deep meditation/relaxation: improved concentration, major reductions in stress and improved memory retention. Blood pressure, breathing and heart rate will all slow to a much more restful and healthy level that promotes natural healing.
  • Delta brain waves – 0.1 Hz to 4 Hz = deepest state of complete relaxation: dreamless, completely unconscious sleep state that allows your body and brain to rest and repair. This is the most effective way to encourage your mind to release itself from an overactive waking state and enter into a sleep state.
Binaural tones play slightly different frequencies in each ear so headphones are a must for them to work!
With isochronic tones, the ears receive the same simple pulse of sound, so headphones aren’t required, but they can enhance the experience.
The brain needs about 7 full minutes for these tones to start to work, but to get and feel the benefits. At least 15-30 minutes are recommended.
With these tones, it is wise to note that you should only listen to them when you have time to relax or meditate. Do not listen while driving a car or operating machinery.
Certain people, those that are affected by seizures or other similar health conditions, shouldn’t listen to these tones.
These sound therapies can be an excellent tool for those who are beginning meditation practices or by anyone who wants to add to their daily well-being rituals. No matter what your goal is, the above are great ways to relax and improve your mood fast! Be well!

2.4.2. Subconscious therapy therapy program - eradicating the bad subconscious at the deepest level

 Subconscious therapy therapy program
Watch Now

This program is quite similar to the 15 MINUTE MANIFESTATION. However, it has more chakras and other bonuses

In another view of therapeutic science, this is a form of therapy called Infosomatics

2.5. Individual opinion for Program Sound therapy Subconscious

Introductions:

“Nothing would be real unless consciousness exists, that all real things are constituents of consciousness – which is a complete reversal of materialism”  - Von Neumann (1903-1957)

“The very study of the external world led to the conclusion that the content of the consciousness is an ultimate reality. Particles only exist when observed, and so the reality of particles entails that consciousness is a fundamental element of reality” - Eugene Wigner (1902-1995)

“If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet. Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.” – Niels Bohr

“Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual”   – Richard Conn Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University (quote taken from “the mental universe)

“Space is just a construct that gives the illusion that there are separate objects”  Dr. Quantum (source)

Deductive:

Science is still going to solve the Consciousness and Reality problem.
It is undeniable that it is the consciousness that creates our reality / Consciousness of the individual that creates reality for each individual.

Thus, changing the Mind with the change and unlocking the Subconscious (The programs I introduced above) is valid. But all theories / theories are incomplete (Gödel's incompleteness theorems).
The most trusting and solid as a universal law of the Universe: Law of Causality

So the morality of each individual and the whole society is the decisive thing for a good life.
The above programs do not directly affect human morality.

There is a much better path than the other sound programs. That is the path of Buddhism pointed out.
Buddhism has a very high argument, but there are two basic things: the Law of Causality and Ethics as a human being, it is more than enough for good and social improvement.

The question arises: What is Sound Good? What is Evil Sound?
Please leave a comment to help us...

If you think that the above programs can redirect the Human Mind from bad to good / from Evil to Good. You can use it.
